Titex introduces its coolant fed XD-Pilot, designed to build on the company's XD technology. Now, a center and pilot drill have been optimally designed for Titex's XD technology. With a point angle of 150°, the new pilot drill enables a soft bore in preparation for the subsequent XD tool. Because of this, the deephole drill doesn't enter immediately with the entire point in the tool, allowing forces and torque to continue, and allowing the loads on the cutting edges of the tool to be reduced significantly. The internal coolant and TFT coating allow for increased productivity, and a tolerance has been created by the XD Pilot's external diameter so that even after regrinding many times, there will still be clearance. The drill is available from stock in the same dimensions as those of the ALPHA 4 XD16, so that the total spectrum for drill depths ranges from 16X diameter. TITEX Waukesha, WI titex.com
