SuperTurbo-X Mark III 2D laser cutting system

Mazak Optonics Corporation has taken its SuperTurbo-X Mark III 2D laser cutting system and made it even more advanced by increasing itspower output to 6,000 Watts. This boost allows the system to meet the unique demandsof processing thicker mild steel and stainless materials.

The STX Mark III system is a flexible, rugged workhorse that offers significant technicaladvantages and standard features for a variety of material types and thicknesses. Builtutilizing Mazak's proven hybrid platform, the new system's constant-beam lengthconstruction provides uniform cutting across the machine table.

Additionally, the STX Mark III utilizes several advanced features found in Mazak's high-end Hyper Series machines, including intelligent setup functions for automated nozzlespatter removal, a three-station nozzle changer as well as focal point measurement andadjustment capability. These functions are part of the Mazak Opti-Pod, which helpsminimize system setup time and extends unattended operation for longer periods oftime while still maintaining optimized machining conditions.

The STX Mark III also incorporates a Servo Focus Torch and High Accuracy AutoCentering Lens and Nozzle. The servo driven system significantly reduces piercing time, while the lens and nozzle design further reduces setup time and increases pierce, plasma and poor cut sensing to ensure consistent performance over a wide range ofmaterials. Together, these technologies yield a considerable increase in productivity.

Mazak Optonics paid special attention to flexibility throughout the design of the STXMark III, evident in the fact it is available in 4' x 8',5' x 10' and 6' x 12' table configurations and offers three power output levels: 2.5 kW, 4.0 kW and 6.0 kW. It isalso available with a large range of automated material handling systems, includingLoad/Unload Cells and Flexible Manufacturing Systems.
