Walter has introduced new cartridges for holding BCxx style indexable inserts for use in the F2252 slotting cutter and new left-handed BCxx inserts in three sizes. A total of six BCxx inserts in left-hand and right-hand versions are available with different standard corner radii.

The F2252 cutter provides maximum stability due to the new insert installation position with a reinforced insert pocket. Slot milling is performed with staggered cutting edges, and forward and reverse milling is possible. The tool features a 90° approach angle.

The cutting width is easy to adjust using an eccentric bolt and serration in an axial direction at the rear of the cartridges. The tool is suitable for universal application in milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super alloys (ISO P, M, K, N and S material groups) due to the WKP35G, WSP45G, and WXN15G milling grades.

The cutter, which is suitable for full slotting, grooving, and trimming, features a high level of accuracy in the groove base and a high level of flexibility as the BCxx indexable inserts can also be used in the Xtra∙tec XT M5130 and M5250 milling cutters.

New available BCxx inserts include the 9mm IC inserts with corner radii of 0.4mm and 0.8mm, the 12mm IC inserts with corner radii of 0.4, 0.8, 1.2, 1.6, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0mm, and the 16mm IC inserts, with corner radii of 0.8, 1.2, 1.6, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0mm. All are new left-hand additions to the product range and complement the current extensive offering of right-handed inserts. The F2252 milling cutter with bore adaption has a longitudinal or transverse keyway that is in accordance with the DIN 138 standard.
