Fixtureworks, a North American manufacturer and supplier of clamps, fixturing accessories, machine tool components and rollers & bumpers, now offers a new lineup of one-touch precision flex locators identified as CP741 to its existing line up of flex locators.
Flex locators are locating elements for changing various attachments and components for both small and large fixtures. Flex locators provide locating and clamping in one operation. Designed for quick change applications, these flex clamping locators locate and fasten in a single operation without the use of tools.
The CP741 Precision Flex Locator provides an accuracy of 0.003mm, the most accurate Flex locator to date, while also providing 674 lb of clamping force. The ball-lock locators are made to pair with AMWF-BU receptacles for quick change fixture operations. The quarter-turn locator pin is mounted to the fixture, and the receptacle is mounted to the base. Simple to operate, these locators clamp and unclamp with a simple quarter turn of the knob, no tools needed.
The CP741 locator is available in straight and tapered types. The tapered version is used for locating and for 90 degree rotational reference. The straight type is used for additional clamping points.
The new CP741 Flex locator is a powerful option for those who want to perform high-precision positioning quickly and with ease. They join an expanding line of Flex Clamping Locators designed to make fixture changes and setups, quick and simple, without the need for tools.
The CP741 models join the four main variations of locators: knob style identified as CP723; adjustable handle style as CP722; cam handle style as CP731, and hex-head style as CP730. The two handle versions are available either tapered or straight.
In combination with receptacles/receivers, these parts are designed to be mounted on fixture bases and plates for highly accurate locating and positioning and allow for precise repeatability when moving to a new machine or different operation.
