Island Park, New York – Northfield Precision Instrument Corp., known for the design and manufacture of precision workholding chucks, has introduced a safety air reservoir tank.
Its purpose is to feed an air chuck with a reserve air supply in the event of a loss of shop air. This system can keep your chuck in the clamped position for up to 20 minutes (depending on conditions). The system includes a check valve, a filter-regulator unit, and a 3 gal air tank with a safe operating pressure of up to 150psi. The unit is burst tested up to 300psi.
Northfield Precision Instrument air chucks for lathes, boring machines, grinders and VMCs include through-hole, high-speed, and quick-change models. Chucks are available in SAE or metric, in sizes from 3" (76mm) to 18" (457mm), with accuracies of 0.001" to 0.00001".
