High-force voice coil motors

Van Nuys, California – Moticont has added new high-force voice coil motors to its GVCM family of voice coil motors with an internal shaft and bearing. The three linear voice coil motors in the GVCM-095-089 series features the same housing measuring 3.5" long x 3.750" dia. (88.9mm x 95.3mm) and the same threaded mounting holes for easy integration into new and existing applications.

The GVCM-095-089-01 features a 2.50" (63.5mm) stroke and a continuous force of 25.0 lb (111.2N) and 79.0 lb (351.3N) of peak force at a 10% duty cycle.

The GVCM-095-089-02 features a 1.00" (25.4mm) stroke and a continuous force of 58.0 lb (257.7N) and 183.1 lb (814.5N) of peak force at a 10% duty cycle.

The GVCM-095-089-03 features a 0.50" (12.7mm) stroke and a continuous force of 63.9 lb (284.1N) and 202.0 lb (898.4N) of peak force at a 10% duty cycle.

Each motor is guided by a long-life plain bearing that permits side loads up to 3 lb (13.5N). The precision-ground 0.236" (6.0mm) diameter shaft has an internal thread. The cog-free motion of these low inertia brushless GVCM-095-089 Series Linear Voice Coil Motors can be used for: assembly, clamping, and work holding; sorting equipment; medical devices; optical focusing; antenna positioning; shutters and doors; testing; slide actuators; valve actuation; and wafer handling.
