Van Nuys, California – Moticont has introduced their highest force linear actuator in their DDLM Linear Actuator Series. The DDLM-038-051-01Linear Actuator is a non-commutated linear actuator that integrates into new and existing applications and is a choice when upgrading from a pneumatic system. Compact, clean, and quiet, this fully enclosed linear actuator, also referred to as an electric cylinder, is 1.5" (38.1mm) in diameter with a housing length of 2.0" (50.4mm) long. Developing 3.1 lb (14.0N) of continuous force and 9.9 lb (44.1N) of peak force at 10% duty cycle, it has a stroke of 0.375" (9.5mm). Zero cogging and direct coupling of the actuator to the load results in zero backlash and allows for smooth, high acceleration/deceleration, and high-speed positioning.
The 0.25" (6.4mm) diameter shaft has an internal thread on each end, a total length of 3.875" (98.4mm), and extends 1.375" (34.9mm) past the mounting ends of the actuator. The shaft extends thru the 9/16-18 UNF x 0.250 (6.4mm) long threaded stud at each end of the housing which can be used for mounting the DDLM-038-051-01 Linear Actuator. Long life plain linear bearings support the internal shaft at both end of the actuator and can tolerate a side load up to 5.4 lb (24.0N). Internal return springs are available as an option.
Highly controllable force, stroke length and speed, low noise, and maintenance free, the DDLM-038-051-01 can be used with a position sensor and controller for the high repeatability, accuracy, and high throughput of a closed loop servo system.
