Sunnen's ML-2000 is an easy-to-use power-stroked honing machine delivered in a basic package for job shops and mid-volume production applications.
A machining platform constructed of reinforced structural steel and cast iron provides a rigid machine base. In addition, moving components are isolated from the base for optimum stability.
The ML-2000 has twice the power and more speed than the Sunnen MBC-style honing machines and with a computer control, it is easier to set up. Changing belts or pulleys is eliminated. Other features include ease-of-maintenance with a simplified coolant system. Zero shutoff is standard. And the ML-2000 can run Sunnen's new TurboHone series high-performance multi-stone mandrels. The TurboHone tools offer the advantage of multiple stones without guide shoes for maximum cutting rates and short cycle times.
An optional Automatic Size Control provides better control of bore size. As soon as the bore is to size, the honing cycle automatically stops.
