LFG 1000 Profile Grinding Machine

The new Liebherr LFG series profile grinding machines are designed for high-production profile grinding of external and internal gears.  The series includes three models for workpiece diameters from 800mm to 1,250mm. 

 

The direct-drive table of the machine guarantees the highest possible accuracy throughout the complete process. For a modern profile grinding machine, a direct-drive swivel axis is also required.  Only with this swivelling can you achieve high-production grinding of topologically correct, or topologically modified tooth profiles, single- or double-flank method.

 

In the standard LFG model, dressing of the grinding disc is accomplished by a single dresser, in combination with the shift and swivel axis.  To reduce dressing time, the LFG machine is optionally available with a sync dresser, for dressing of the left and right flanks of the grinding disc simultaneously.  A special optimized grinding process is also possible due to the high speed axial travel rate, for additional productivity increase.

 

The LFG can be set-up for internal gear grinding with only minimal changes. The internal grinding arm is mounted above the external grinding unit. The large grinding disc is dressed by two dressers on the machine base.

A steady-column allows clamping of shaft-type gears.  With the well-proven Liebherr ring-loader system, a new era of automatic production in profile grinding of this size range has been opened up by the LFG machine.  The LFG is fitted with an NC-automatic adjustable grinding oil nozzle. The grinding data is recorded and the process is continually monitored and optimized.
