The GANTRY RS from Handtmann uses rack and pinion drives, to achieve highest dynamics for the linear axis. Backlash free and with accelerations up to 8m/s² (0.8 g) and travel speeds up to 70mpm, the HSC center can keep up with the speed of linear drive centers. Compared to these, the costs for purchase and operation of the GANTRY RS are significantly less. For the rotary axes A and C Handtmann prefers to use direct drives to increase performance.
The basic construction of the GANTRY RS is made of one piece. This has not only the advantage that the installation requires less time, also it has a self-supporting machine bed. A special epoxy concrete is reducing the thermal influences and vibrations. A better accuracy is the result.
Table sizes of 250/200, 250/250 and 250/300 [cm] are available and the center can be customized for individual needs due to the modular design.
The complete enclosed working zone has an optional evacuation unit for composite production. Thanks to the GANTRY design, all the sensitive machine parts and drives are outside of the working zone and the abrasive composite dust cannot damage them.
