Their rating applies to the standard 490 and 496 cables, which meet specifications for fieldbus Type A physical media as defined by IEC 1158-2 and ISA-S50.02. Standard Foundation cables, with PVC jackets, install as open wiring up to 50 ft for field transmitters.
