Doosan Infracoreýs new DMV 4020Ls continues the Daewoo tradition of providing machining power with no sacrifice to precision or surface finish. Itýs popularly sized, with travels of 40.1ý x 20.1ý x 24.6ý (X x Y x Z), and powerfully built, with a 30 hp, 15,000 rpm, high torque spindle motor. A generous 19.7ý x 47.2ý table supports loads of 1,760 lbs.
The bed is a rigid, one-piece, Meehanite casting to dampen vibration and dissipate heat. Itýs strategically ribbed to prevent deformation during heavy cutting. The table moves along widely spaced, linear guideways that provide excellent saddle support in all positions. The ýLong Carriageý truck design allows optimal weight-distribution rigidity. All guideways are fully protected from chips and damage.
A 40 taper, cartridge-type spindle is supported by precision class bearings that are oil mist lubricated. Power is transferred through an Eagle Belt and pulley for superior thermal stability and minimal vibration. An attached encoder for rigid tapping is standard.
Each axis is driven by a high precision, double-nut ball screw. The ball screws are centered between the guideways, and supported on both ends by angular contact thrust bearings.. This design assures outstanding positioning repeatability and no thermal growth. The large 1.57ý ball screws on each axis are connected directly to the servo drive motor. Gears and belts are eliminated to maximize power and eliminate backlash. An easily-reset flexible coupling is located on each axis to protect ball screws from sudden impact.
The DMV 4020Lsý 30-station, double arm ATC delivers instant waiting tool availability, even in short cutting cycles. Tool to tool changes are a quick 1.5 sec.
