Walter has launched the Groov∙tec GD axial grooving tool G5111 along with the G5041 reinforced parting blade and G5042 deep-parting blade, as well as product additions to the G5011 grooving system.
The grooving system features a new insert design with a double serration profile for positively secure locking in the insert seat to increase stability and process reliability. The positive fit effectively absorbs lateral forces during longitudinal and copy turning. A raised center serration prevents incorrect installation.
Additions to the product range include radial grooving and groove-turning tools G5011 in shank sizes of 1.25", 12mm x 12mm and 32mm x 32mm, and Walter Capto G5011-C-P tools in C3 to C6 sizes.
The face grooving tool G5111 is the new introduction to the Groov∙tec GD family. The G5111 system is introduced with cutting depths of 12mm, 21mm and 25 mm, an axial grooving diameter from 34mm to 500mm, and shank sizes of 25mm x 25mm and 1".
The benefits of the G5111 include increased cutting parameters, maximum process reliability and exceptional service life thanks to the stable Groov∙tec GD double serration profile, and maximum productivity and tool life because of the wear-resistant Tiger∙tec Gold grades.
The new Groov·tec GD parting blades G5041..R/L-P are the reinforced parting blades for cutting and grooving with or without coolant. These are available in right-hand, left-hand, and contra versions, and feature conventional blade heights of 26mm to 32mm and insert widths of 3mm and 4mm. The tool body accepts double-edged GD26 cutting inserts with a double serration clamping profile.
The new Groov·tec GD deep-parting blades G5042/G5042-P are conventional (non-reinforced) blades for deep grooving and parting off. The G5042 insert widths are from 3mm to 6mm, and the G5042-P insert widths are from 3mm to 4mm. Blade height is 26mm and32 mm, and the maximum parting-off diameter is from 80mm to 160mm. The tool body accepts single-edged and double-edged GD26 cutting inserts with a double serration.
