To complement Optimal Engineering Systems’ (OES) expanding line of motorized positioning stages, OES has added the Sonata Series of motion control systems. The Sonata Series of countertop stand-alone controllers are cost effective solutions for controlling and driving single and multi-axis stepper and servo motor driven positioning stages. This series is designed for users without prior knowledge of motion control technology. The user may control the position of single or multi axis stages using a keypad or a joystick.
These compact, plug-and-play, standalone motion controllers are easily connected to the positioning stage and do not require a PC to operate. Control of 1, 2, or 3-axis stages is via the keypad and digital display or a joystick.
Each Sonata motion controller includes the keypad, digital display, power supply, and the appropriate motor drivers for 1, 2, or 3 axes of motion. This series accommodates two-phase stepper motors, brushless DC Servo motors or brushed DC servo motors with Quadrature Incremental Optical Encoders. The stepper motors can have Quadrature Incremental Optical Encoders for position verification.
The capabilities include: Set Acceleration, Set Velocity, Set Position, Absolute Move, Relative Move, Find Home, Resetting Position Counters, Go to Position Zero, Stop All Motors. It also has inputs for Limit and Home switches.
Easy to install and use Sonata Controllers are totally integrated solutions featuring standalone and manual modes of operation, 4-line LCD, 32-key keypad, Quadrature Encoder feedback for position verification, and analog devices such as joysticks.
A 19” rack mount version of this product is also available.
Sonata Motion Controllers operate on an input power of 24VDC, 115 or 230VAC, 50-60 Hz, and can be ordered Plug-and-Play when ordering any one of the many single or multi-axis stages available from OES.
