Troy, Michigan – X-Ray Industries, an Applus+ RTD company, has signed a five-year agreement with Composites Horizons LLC (CHI) for the inspection of the company’s new oxide-ceramic matrix composite (CMC) components using infrared, thermographic non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection technology.
X-Ray Industries, located in Troy, Michigan, has partnered with Thermal Wave Imaging Inc. (TWI) to design and build the automated inspection system that will be co-located inside Composites Horizons’ newly built CMC facility in Covina, California.
Thermal Wave Imaging provides thermal NDT solutions to the aerospace, power generation, and automotive industries. Since 1992, the company has been dedicated exclusively to the advancement of infrared NDT. It has played a pioneering role in moving thermographic NDT technology from the laboratory to manufacturing and maintenance for many of the world's leading companies.

X-Ray Industries was purchased by Applus+ February 2015, and is the platform company for the aerospace business unit of Applus+ RTD.
