World's Longest Flight Lands for the Last Time

19-hour non-stop flight is replaced by longer one-stop option.

Singapore Airlines has terminated its nonstop all-business-class service to New York – also the world's longest flight – as the aviation sector grapples with high fuel prices and subdued demand for premium travel.

The cancellation of the direct route, which shuttled passengers between Changi Airport, Singapore, and Newark, N.J., within 18.5 hours, means business travelers will now face an additional 6 hours or more in travel time with one-stop service.
