Charlotte, North Carolina – UTC Aerospace Systems has been selected by Qatar Airways to supply the wheels and carbon brakes for its fleet of 43 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The company will provide the equipment through its Landing Systems facility in Troy, Ohio. Qatar Airways took delivery of their first A350-900 aircraft in December 2014. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp.
The A350 XWB carbon brakes use proprietary DURACARB carbon heat sink material. UTC Aerospace Systems is the first wheel and brake supplier certified on the A350-900 program.
