Charlotte, North Carolina – UTC Aerospace Systems can add continuous flight tracking and aircraft health monitoring to aircraft across the globe, monitoring position and status while enroute. The company has extended its Aircraft Data Management (ADM) solution to provide airlines with an effective means of flight tracking that reports both position and aircraft health. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp.
UTC Aerospace Systems' aircraft health, flight tracking and position reporting system integrates with a variety of communications providers selected by the customer, regardless of the communications channel, SATCOM or standard ACARS. The system is based on the UTC Aerospace Systems ADM Aircraft Interface Device (AID), a solution that is certified on multiple aircraft platforms since 2009. This standard interface gives customers the autonomy and control to seamlessly pair their current SATCOM or standard ACARS system with existing UTC Aerospace Systems ADM solutions.
Brian Sartain, director of business development, Sensors and Integrated Systems said, "UTC Aerospace Systems has a history of providing innovative solutions to industry challenges. By using Aircraft Data Management solutions as a building block, we have been able to expand existing technology and offer customers an efficient means to incorporate flight-tracking capabilities on their aircraft, providing immediate benefits and long-term security."
UTC Aerospace Systems' ADM solutions include the AID, Tablet Interface Module (TIM) and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) systems. Currently, more than 500 aircraft flying today have UTC Aerospace Systems' ADM systems.
