Abu Dhabi – The General Headquarters of the United Arab Emirates Armed Force (GHQ) has announced a contract with Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments (ADASI) for the acquisition of eight P.1HH HammerHead multipurpose unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), designed and developed by Piaggio Aerospace.
All the aircraft will be equipped with electro-optical infra-red (EO/IR) cameras, radar, and advanced communications systems. Part of the contract is also the integrated logistic support, including training.
The total contract value amounts to $353 million.
Speaking at the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi, Carlo Logli, CEO of Piaggio Aerospace, said: “This important contract recognizes Piaggio Aerospace’s efforts in establishing a world-class military program and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities that position the business for long-term sustainable success.”
