Lancaster, Pennsylvania – Thermacore Inc., a provider of advanced thermal and material solutions, has received full recertification to both AS9100:2009 Rev. C and ISO 9001:2008 Quality Standards at its Lancaster, Pennsylvania, headquarters and manufacturing facility through the independent Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) registrar. Thermacore has been recertified to these two quality standards for the design, manufacture, and distribution of thermal management components and systems.
“Thermacore’s commitment to exceptional execution in all facets of our business is critical to meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers for highly reliable thermal management products, services, and material solutions. Achieving this recertification is a clear demonstration that the processes we have developed and put in place allow us to meet that commitment,” said Jerome E. Toth, president and chief executive officer of Thermacore.
Developed specifically for the aviation, space, and defense industries, the AS9100 standard was established by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) for the purpose of achieving significant industry improvements in quality, safety, and customer service, as well as reductions in cost throughout the value stream. AS9100 is globally recognized and incorporates best practices from across the aerospace and defense industry. The latest revision of AS9100, known as Rev. C, places additional emphasis on risk management and mitigation, stresses supply chain management controls, and assigns greater focus on planning and project management, which are all designed to ensure a higher level of customer satisfaction and quality.
AS9100 Rev. C imposes a number of requirements for the business process that must be fulfilled to achieve customer satisfaction, including a requirement for planned and continual improvement of the quality management system. Specifically for Thermacore, key components of AS9100 Rev. C require:
- Verified customer satisfaction
- Continuous improvement
- Understanding and conformance to customer requirements
- Deploying and maintaining a compliant AS9100 Rev. C quality management system
The recertification was granted by Lloyd’s Registrar Quality Assurance, an ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB)-recognized organization. Leonard Dore, vice president, operations at Thermacore, explained, “Recertification to both the AS9100 and ISO9001 standards represents affirmation by an independent, world-leading registrar that Thermacore has the policies and practices in place to assure our customers of the world-class quality and reliability of our products and services, as well as the reassurance of on-time delivery and satisfaction.”
