Executives from Sonaca Montreal and Bombardier Aerospace have concluded a letter of intent to renew all of Sonaca Montreal's contracts for the manufacture of wing panels on Bombardier aircraft for five years (January 2014 to December 2018).
Since 2003, Sonaca Montreal has demonstrated its expertise in the manufacture of wing panels on many regional and business aircraft programs for the world's largest aircraft manufacturers. Bombardier Aerospace recognizes the opportunity to continue its valued collaboration with Sonaca Montreal.
In the event that the parties conclude a final agreement, Sonaca Montreal would remain Bombardier Aerospace's supplier for the manufacture of wing panels on the regional and business aircraft programs on which Sonaca Montreal has been involved for several years, namely: Challenger 605, Challenger 850, CRJ700, CRJ900, CRJ1000 NextGen, Learjet 70, Learjet 75 and Q400 NextGen.
"We wish to renew our contracts with Bombardier Aerospace to confirm our position as a world leader in the integration of manufacturing large aluminum aircraft structures," says Mr. Philippe Hoste, CEO of Sonaca Montreal.
Sonaca Montreal, a subsidiary of the Belgian group Sonaca S.A., manufactures large aerospace aluminum structures for the aviation industry. Its core business involves the machining, surface treatment and assembly of aircraft wing panels. Sonaca Montreal is located in Mirabel, Quebec, where it employs more than 310 people.
