Hartford, Connecticut – Machinists have approved a nearly 5 1/2-year contract with jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney that increases wages 2.5% per year.
Members of the International Association of Machinists voted 1,691 to 385 in favor of the agreement, despite pension changes that affect those hired beginning next year.
The contract, which took effect Dec. 5, 2016, covers about 2,600 workers in East Hartford and Middletown, Connecticut.
