Executives from Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Corp. company, have signed an exclusive eight-year maintenance services agreement with Russia’s Transaero Airlines to provide engine overhaul services on the airline's fleet of PW4000-112" engines. The agreement is expected to be worth approximately $55 million over its life.
Under the terms of the agreement, Pratt & Whitney will provide engine overhaul services for 11 Transaero PW4000-112" engines, to be performed at the company's center of excellence for PW4000 engine overhaul, Eagle Services Asia, Singapore.

The PW4000 112 engine, with its 112-inch-diameter fan case, is an ultra-high-thrust model covering the 74,000 lb to 90,000 lb-thrust class and is frequently spec’ed for Boeing 777 aircraft.
Transaero Airlines, the second-largest passenger airline in Russia, launched its services in November, 1991. Transaero serves more than 190 routes in Russia, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Its fleet consists of 100 aircraft, including 24 Boeing 747s, 14 Boeing 777s, 15 767s, 42 737s, three Tupolev 214, and two Tu-204-100C aircraft. Transaero boasts the largest long-haul fleet in Russia, the CIS, and Eastern Europe. It is the only commercial carrier flying Boeing 747 passenger aircraft in the region.
