Piedmont Aviation signs maintenance agreement with ExpressJet Airlines

Total value of the four year APU maintenance agreement may reach up to $12 million.


Gedera, Israel – Piedmont Aviation Component Services, the wholly-owned subsidiary of TAT Technologies Ltd., a provider of services and products to the commercial and military aerospace and ground defense industries, has signed a four year auxiliary power unit (APU) maintenance agreement with ExpressJet Airlines covering its CRJ-200 fleet of 88 aircraft 36-150RJ APU. The agreement's total value may reach $12 million.
 
Atlanta-based regional airline ExpressJet Airlines is a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest Inc. It offers an average of 2,200 daily flights with an all-jet fleet of 404 aircraft. ExpressJet operates as American Eagle, Delta Connection and United Express to serve 196 airports in 42 U.S. states, District of Columbia, Bahamas, Canada and Mexico.
 
TAT's president and CEO, Itsik Maaravi, commented on the new agreement: "We are proud of this new relationship between ExpressJet Airlines and Piedmont.
 
For many years, Piedmont, based in Kernersville, N.C., has been providing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services to the series 36-150 APUs as an Authorized Honeywell Service Center. “The new APU agreement reinforces Piedmont's leading position in the APU maintenance industry," Maarvi added.
 
TAT Technologies Ltd. offers OEM heat management and flow control solutions including the design, development, manufacture and sale of pre-coolers, oil/fuel hydraulic coolers, and cold plates used in mechanical and electronic systems on-board commercial, business and military aircraft; environmental control and cooling systems; and pumps, valves, power systems and turbines.
 
TAT's MRO activities in heat transfer products include heat transfer equipment and the manufacture of certain heat transfer products. TAT's Limco subsidiary operates an FAA-certified repair station, which provides heat transfer MRO services and products for airlines, air cargo carriers, maintenance service centers, and the military.
 
Other MRO services apply to APUs, landing gear, and other aircraft components.
