The Thermal-Friendly Construction on Okuma's large, horizontal multi-function lathe ensures high accuracy, even in the most complex applications. Options include the W-version with sub-spindle, gear cutting and hobbing, SMW steady rest, and Schunk chucks. It has superior machine rigidity from an optimum structural design. It is designed to hand the part from one spindle to the other to complete milling and turning operations without changing the part. This machine features the industry’s first Collision Avoidance System software, allowing for high accuracy. Combined with Okuma’s THINC-OSP Control, this software can run the entire machining simulation and catch potential collisions before they create scrap and damage the machine.
