Charlotte, North Carolina – Okuma America Corp., announced that Julie Murphy has been promoted to director of marketing. She will be responsible for marketing activities in the Western Hemisphere including strategic development to meet the corporate sales, market share and profitability objectives, in addition to working with the global marketing team to ensure worldwide brand consistency.
Murphy has served as Marketing Manager since joining Okuma in December 2008.
Okuma has seen significant changes in the strategic marketing direction of the company under Murphy’s leadership. “Since Julie joined Okuma America Corporation, the level of professionalism and quality of our marketing reach and effectiveness in the CNC machine tool industry has grown significantly. We are excited about the future of our marketing department guided by her expertise,” says Jim King, president & COO, Okuma.
Murphy holds an MBA in marketing from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, and a B.S. in Marketing from Miami University. She has 20 years of experience in B2B marketing, strategic planning, product development and marketing communications in the manufacturing industry.
