Murata Machinery USA, Inc. (Muratec USA), a manufacturer of high-precision CNC turning machines and a pioneer in automation systems, is announcing a strategic dealer partnership with Alta Enterprises Inc., a full-service machine tool distributor serving the Mid-Atlantic region.
This partnership strengthens Muratec USA’s sales and service coverage across key eastern states – including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and Maryland – by aligning with Alta’s well-established regional presence and customer relationships.
The Mid-Atlantic region is one of the largest non-automotive industrial corridors in the United States, offering strong growth opportunities across diverse sectors.
Through this partnership, Alta will represent Muratec’s full line of CNC turning centers – including the MW Series; single- and twin-spindle platforms; Y-axis live-tooling models; and fully automated part-handling systems. Machines such as the MW100 II, MW35, and MT1065 are particularly well-suited for small- to medium-precision applications across industries including oil & gas, defense, and medical manufacturing.
Many Muratec turning centers feature an integrated gantry system that enables precise, hands-free loading and unloading, significantly enhancing productivity. These solutions will be positioned both as standalone systems and as components of fully integrated automation cells, tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer.
This partnership enhances Muratec USA’s ability to support manufacturers by combining its high-precision turning solutions with Alta’s local market knowledge, established service capabilities, and well-equipped showroom.
“We’re excited to welcome Alta Enterprises Inc. to our dealer network,” said Jeff Kalmbach, general manager, Machine Tools Division, Muratec USA. “Their regional presence, automation focus, and strong reputation as a trusted collaborator make them an ideal partner to expand Muratec USA’s footprint and strengthen our ability to support manufacturers throughout the Mid-Atlantic.”
“As a second-generation, family-owned business, we take pride in continuing our legacy of quality, trust, and customer support,” said Jeb Johnson, president of Alta Enterprises Inc. “Partnering with Muratec allows us to bring advanced, high-precision turning solutions to our customers while reinforcing our commitment to providing best-in-class technology to the region.”
Murata Machinery USA, Inc., established in 1974, is the North American subsidiary of Murata Machinery Ltd., a family-owned company founded in Kyoto, Japan, in 1935 and proudly celebrating 90 years of innovation in 2025. Muratec USA’s Turning Division is recognized for its high-precision, automated turning centers that increase throughput, reduce labor requirements, and improve part quality for today’s advanced manufacturing environments.
Founded in 1978, Alta Enterprises is a second-generation, family-owned distributor known for delivering single-source machine tool solutions throughout the Northeastern Industrial Corridor. The company has built a strong legacy of trust, technical expertise, and exceptional service while supplying high-quality CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers, lathes, grinders, multi-spindle automatics, and manual machine tools.
“Our goal is to bring true high-level automation into a region that has historically lacked strong representation,” said Ken Brewer, National Sales Manager at Muratec USA. “Alta's legacy of quality, strong customer commitment, and dynamic, highly capable sales organization make them an outstanding partner to expand Muratec’s footprint in the Mid-Atlantic.”
To support the launch, Alta and Muratec USA will coordinate in 2026 on joint awareness initiatives to highlight the benefits of high-precision, automated turning solutions for manufacturers along the eastern U.S.
