Charlotte, North Carolina – Murata Machinery USA Inc. (Muratec) is introducing Andrew Wildman as a laser applications engineer based out of its U.S. headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.
With 26 years of experience, Wildman is not a new-comer to working with lasers. For 17 of these years, he gained wide experience as a field service engineer supporting a variety of machines, including CO2 flat sheet cutters. His work as a service engineer allowed him to sharpen his skills with cutting applications.
For the past several years, he has worked in the gas turbine industry with laser cladders and fusion welders using IPG fiber lasers. The opportunity to work with cutting lasers again was one Wildman couldn’t pass up. “I’ve always been fascinated with the speed and precision in the technology used in laser cutting. When given the opportunity to work with Murata and its fiber laser, I just knew I wanted to be a part of the team.”
Wildman’s experience in the industry and with lasers makes him a great fit for Murata, as well. “Exceeding our customer’s expectations is our goal, and Andrew brings a wealth of experience that will prove invaluable to our customers,” says Jeff Kalmbach, general manager – Machine Tool Division.
Wildman will support customers across the Fabrication Business Unit’s North American territory. Murata Machinery USA’s fabrication business unit specializes in applications, service, and sales of turret punch presses, fiber lasers, and automation for those machines.
