Pasadena, California – The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has honored Lockheed Martin with the Small Business Industry Awards Large Prime Contractor of the Year award for its utilization of small businesses and superior performance on subcontracts at the agency's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
"Our work with NASA JPL is diverse, supporting space missions and complex IT needs," said Vicki Schmanske, vice president of IT & Security Solutions for Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Solutions. "Small business partners bring an array of capabilities that enable our support of NASA JPL, forming an important and deeply valued element of our team."
Lockheed Martin was recognized for its program performance on subcontracts including the Desktop Institutional Computing Environment (DICE), the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), and the Mars Odyssey extended mission operations.
The award also recognizes the corporation's integration and utilization of small businesses and its support to JPL's community and educational outreach programs.
