At the 2025 Paris Air Show, French aircraft manufacturer AURA AERO and Jump Air, a Lithuanian aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) provider and charter airline, announced the signature of a Letter of Intent (LOI) for ERA, the hybrid-electric regional aircraft, in its 19-seater and cargo versions. The agreement is for 10 aircraft plus 10 additional options.

Established in 2020 in Vilnius, Lithuania, Jump Air services cover Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Central America. The airline currently operates two ATR 72-500 (LY-JUP and LY-JUA) 72-seater passenger aircraft and employs 34 crew members.

ERA is a state-of-the-art, eco-responsible aircraft designed to revitalize regional aviation while accelerating the decarbonization of aviation. With 8 electric motors (ENGINeUS, developed by Safran and the first-ever electric aircraft engine to be certified) and two SAF-compatible turbo-generators, it will alternate hybrid and electric phases according to flight requirements, with a range up to 900nm (1,666km).

With innovations in avionics, aerodynamics, and propulsion, ERA offers a versatile solution for different missions, representing an efficient solution for operators in terms of energy and maintenance costs. Capable of transporting 19 passengers or up to 1.9 tons of cargo, ERA can also be configured in a business version or a special mission version. ERA can operate from large airports as well as short, unpaved runways and its 1.88 meter high, pressurized cabin ensures passenger comfort.

Meeting the environmental challenges of the 21st century, ERA reduces CO2 emissions up to 80% compared with thermal aircraft in its class.

With this order for up to 20 ERA, Jump Air intends to use the hybrid-electric revolution to expand access to reliable flights for small communities in its operating areas.

Jérémy Caussade, President and co-founder of AURA AERO, says: “We are very proud to have been chosen by Jump Air to decarbonize their operations and bring a sustainable solution to develop their routes. He adds: “At AURA AERO, we are excited to contribute to the decarbonization of aviation and to offer new low carbon solutions that serve humanity.”

“We are extremely proud to be a launch customer for this low-emission regional aircraft. We are fully confident in ERA’s success and deeply impressed by its practicality and innovative design,” stated Giovanni Gottardelli, CEO of Jump Air. “Our customers will value ERA not only for its regional capabilities but also for its versatility, serving functions ranging from corporate jet operations to cargo utilization.”

AURA AERO boasts an orderbook of more than 650 ERA aircraft, representing a total value of more than $10.5 billion.
