Liebherr-Aerospace Saline Inc. enhances its aftermarket service capacities with the fifth expansion since 1993. Spanning 33,000ft² (3,065m²), this new expansion at its industrial campus in Michigan adjoins the existing facilities, the latest of which commenced operations in 2016. Together with invited guests, management, and employees, this newest building was recently inaugurated in an official opening ceremony.
The new facility caters to Liebherr-Aerospace Saline’s growing aftermarket demand of testing, repair, overhaul, and recore capacity for Liebherr heat transfer equipment installed on Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer, and Mitsubishi aircraft. It also accommodates the internal MRO process optimization of many other products, thus increasing the urgently needed landing gear processing capacity at the main facility and enlarging the area of MRO activities for pneumatic components.
Recognizing Liebherr-Aerospace Saline’s global success, Alex Vlielander, chief customer officer at Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS, said: “The positive and overwhelming acceptance by our customers has allowed us to expand our offerings worldwide, thus validating our strategy to be close to our customers. Furthermore, by expanding the network we are shortening the overall turn around time by eliminating transportation time, cutting down on cost and lowering our carbon footprint.”
Will Dew, managing director Commercial at Liebherr-Aerospace Saline, Inc. added: “It is also important that we recognize the sustainable contributions of our employees. This milestone is proof of their daily contribution to our success. Thanks to their tireless commitment and the new local conditions that the new building provides us with, we can respond even more quickly to the growing demand from our customers and strengthen our long-term competitiveness.”
