Lin Engineering pays tribute to Japan for the devastating 9.0 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami that hit the Northern coast of Japan on March 11, 2011. This is the 4th largest recorded earthquake in Japan's history since 1900 per the USGS and Japanese seismologists. In today's world, we are dependent on and coupled to major countries and economies like Japan, and our hopes and prayers go out to those affected. We wish Japan a quick recovery from the tragedy so Japan can get back on track to function at levels prior to the tsunami.
From a business side, the large majority of Lin Engineering's supply chain is not affected by the events in Japan, and we will continue to be able to support our customers as normal. This has caused Lin Engineering to take a closer look at its supply chain and disaster recovery program. Lin Engineering does not plan to benefit from the tragedy in Japan, and offers temporary assistance to customers during this time. If the same were to happen to Lin Engineering, we would expect the same understanding from our customers and peers.
Lin Engineering's Product and Production Status as of 3/24/11:
• Production - facilities are up and running at full capacity
• Supply Chain - large majority unaffected by the events in Japan
