Introductory export workshop for aerospace suppliers

Hawthorne, California – A free introductory export workshop for aerospace suppliers will be offered on June 17, 2014, at the Flight Path Museum in Los Angeles. Attendees will hear from experts on a variety of export-related issues, including practical approaches and available resources to assist aerospace suppliers in export activities. 

 

Participants will also learn about the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) process, which governs the overseas sales of certain technologies and munitions. Recent ITAR reforms further make this workshop important for aerospace exporters.

 

Jose Anaya, the Statewide Initiative Director for the Centers for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT), said, "This workshop is important for any business that exports or is considering exporting. There is a significant amount of business opportunity at the global level. Companies that enter the global marketplace position themselves to increase profit margins, which in-turn spurs greater economic activity for California."

 

Numerous experts will be participating in the workshop, including: U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Small Business Administration, Small Business Development Center, Port of Los Angeles, California Manufacturing Technology Consulting, Los Angeles World Airports, and CACT.
