Meet your presenter
Joe McChesney contributes to the metal finishing industry by promoting environmentally friendly processes to effectively clean and protect metal parts. Joe helps managers understand that small changes in their process can lead to an improved environmental footprint, increased yields and improved parts cleaning. He is also very passionate in helping everyone he comes in contact with in the field understand what personal protection equipment (PPE) is and how to contact their local OSHA office to ensure personal safety when working in chemistry!
Throughout Joe’s career, his efforts have contributed to improve surface finishing efficiency and productivity for many companies through their process or technology innovations while ensuring a greener and safer environment for everyone. As a leader of the “Clean and Green” initiative, he has been able to influence, support and advocate the industry standards to ensure better behavers in parts cleaning for the surface finishing industry.
Mr. McChesney has over 40 years of experience in cleaning technologies and processes. His extensive experience includes everything from equipment conceptual design through field operations as well as an in-depth involvement in state organizations and regulatory reforms.
His professional background involves many projects with the EPA, OSHA, local and state universities and numerous state organizations concerning clean air regulations, Clean Water Act, and worked with the EPA Triangle Park to define and establish initial air permit rules and regulations for National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP).
Joe also contributes to several industry publications and trade organizations with a variety of technical papers and articles and has published several books. He participates in sharing his knowledge through seminars and educational sessions at trade shows and conferences on a regular basis. Currently, Joe leads the “Clean and Green” initiative for KYZEN, where he travels the nation delivering updated information on recent government regulatory changes affecting the industry.
