Chicago, Illinois - Either you are producing automotive parts, aerospace components or medical device implants, the industry and government regulations impose the marking of quality traceable part identity content. The content, typically marked by lasers, consists of human readable data and/or a 2D code. The quality of the traceable content is essential to make sure that parts manufactured at one location are identifiable anywhere in the world.Traceability technology also helps track processes, goods and are critical when recalls are required.
As part of the quality process associated with traceability, parts must be validated for identity before applying the permanent mark.
About the speaker
Dr. Benayad-Cherif will describe the multifold problems associated with the quality of traceability contents and will provide examples of solutions manufacturers tend to overlook.
Dr. Benayad-Cherif has received his PhD. in Engineering Design and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Physics. He is the author of several technical publications and holds several US and international patents on robotics and imaging technology.
Dr. Benayad-Cherif is also an active contributor to trade magazines on subjects related to laser marking, image processing and quality control.
