Chicago – Make plans to attend the IMTS 2014 Conferences to learn about Honing of Thermal Coated Cylinder Bores.
DATE: Tuesday, September 9 from 11:00 AM - 11:55 AM ROOM: W-192A
SPEAKER: Gerhard Flores, Manager of Process Development, Gehring Technologies GmbH
Thermal sprayed cylinder bores are manufactured by an extensive process chain. The last sequence step is the honing process, which generates best tribological properties of the cylinder surfaces with minimized friction. It comprises rough honing or position honing operation with following semi-finish and finish honing steps. The final evaluation of the achieved qualities like shape, roughness and the micro structure of the thermal sprayed layer is a part of the process development. The presentation will also provide information about the experience of high-volume production.
The educational and informative conferences run Sept. 8-11, 2014 in the West Building, Level 1. To register for this or any session, visit www.imts.com/education/imtsconference.html.
