The heavy-duty cutting is an emerging sector due to the increasing demands in markets like China, Brazil or Russia. The huge success of wind power stations in Europe and China, the growing production levels of utility cars and the progressive railway infrastructure in all relevant markets from South America to Asia are responsible for the increasing demands of flexible machine tools with high cutting capacity in combination with long-term accuracy and precision. In sight of heavy-duty cutting all these branches combine the high requirements to a consistent component quality, because manufactured work pieces are exposed to extreme mechanical loads during subsequent use. Additionally the market requires high flexible, precise and compact machine tools with one-setup machining and a high process quality due to enormous costs of rough parts (blanks).
The development of new technologies has changed the manufacturing equipment’s. Production processes were profoundly transformed economically and ecologically. The requirements for machine tools have deepened. More efficient technologies for hard- materials demand new solutions on machine tools with respect to the delivery of media to the cutting edge. Complex processing’s maintain too complicated machining operations, which are monitored by special user- independent protective mechanisms, such as anti-collision systems and exclude consequential damage caused by incorrect operation . Multi task operations can affect the quality of the work pieces or make a manufacturing process impossible by the occurrence of process vibrations. Implemented new methods for vibration prevention remedy. The agile production is paramount in the design of manufacturing systems and to enable the introduction of new technologies.
