Chicago – Make plans to attend the IMTS 2014 Conferences to learn about A Comparison of Three Strategies for Cost Effective Machining of Titanium.
DATE: Tuesday, September 9 from 11:00 AM - 11:55 AM ROOM: W-192C
SPEAKER: Susan Brewe, Product Manager, Fuchs Lubricants Co.
In today’s globally competitive economic environment, successful components manufacturers are striving to reduce machining costs and improve productivity.
The speaker will describe three different strategies for using cutting fluid to minimize the machining cost of titanium and other difficult materials including heat resistant superalloys (HSRA) and compacted graphite iron (CGI). The three strategies are: minimization of cutting fluid cost, optimization of tooling cost, and maximization of productivity. The advantages and disadvantages of each approach will be discussed.
The concepts will be demonstrated using data from new machining studies, and attendees will learn how these strategies can be applied to various manufacturing environments.
The educational and informative conferences run Sept. 8-11, 2014 in the West Building, Level 1. To register for this or any session, visit www.imts.com/education/imtsconference.html.
