Trio for Industry 4.0 lifelines

M12 Power, PushPull Signal, and preLink module for miniaturization and modularization.

Espelkamp, Germany – The HARTING Technology Group is presenting three innovations: the M12 Power, the PushPull Signal and a new preLink module, for Industry 4.0's lifelines: power, signal, and data. This trio operates in accordance with the industry of tomorrow, miniaturization, and modularization trends.

With 63V and 16A, the M12 Power with L coding offers enough power for energy-hungry applications and will allow customers to dispense with 7/8" solutions in the future. Consequently, field distributors and other applications can be uniformly equipped with M12 interfaces – saving space and money in housing construction. This step is supported by the PNO Profibus User Organization, which has named M12 Power as the new standard power device connection.

The PushPull Signal featuring the new 20-pole design takes the same step towards miniaturization. It offers twice as many contacts in the same space as previous signal connectors. More sensors and actuators have to be connected in the field, while at the same time field devices have to become more compact. The PushPull Signal masters this balancing act with high contact density, IP65/67 protection, and a simple and fast locking mechanism.

The modular preLink system for Ethernet applications up to 10GB rounds out the trio. It is the first to separate the previously permanent connection of cable and connector into two modular units comprising a cable and connector that can be recombined any number of times. HARTING is presenting a new preLink RJ45 module for Han 3A industrial connectors, thereby completing the modular preLink family.
