Handtmann A-Punkt Automation Aerospace Days a success

Company celebrated its 25th anniversary and held the 10th Handtmann Aerospace Days in October.

Baienfurt, Germany – Handtmann A-Punkt Automation GmbH, manufacturer of 5-axis HPC/HSC machining centers, not only celebrated its 25th company anniversary in October 2014, but also held the 10th Handtmann Aerospace Days. Handtmann welcomed about 170 participants from 12 countries to the annual customer event at its headquarters in Baienfurt, Germany. Days before, the machine constructor hosted its International Sales Conference and the International Service Day in order to inform Handtmann sales and service partners from all over the world about current topics and news, as well as to discuss trends and technologies. Positive feedback was recorded throughout all four event days.

For the tenth time in a row, specialists of the cutting industry met for the Handtmann Aerospace Days, which were now renamed Handtmann Technology & Aerospace Days, where the company launched the HBZ Trunnion series with applications for industries such as mold-and-die, in addition to aerospace.

As in previous years, the Technology & Aerospace Days offered the participants insight into the world of 5-axis machining at Handtmann. They were able to get to know the comprehensive “Handtmann Solutions” comprising machine solutions, turn-key-solutions, finance solutions, and service solutions. Guided in small groups, all guests got the opportunity to listen to lectures held by Handtmann staff and selected suppliers directly in front of the machine and to use the time for professional information exchange among Handtmann experts, suppliers, and sales partners.

The event demonstrated the broad field of applications of the four product lines of 5-axis machines: the PBZ profile machining centers, HBZ horizontal machining centers, UBZ universal machining centers, and GANTRY high moving portal machining centers.

The event’s highlight was the presentation of the first Handtmann mill-turn center – the HBZ Trunnion 80 T – machining a steel engine ring (42CrMo4). The optional turning function expands the field of applications of the Handtmann horizontal machining centers by complex mill-turn operations.

The second day of the Technology & Aerospace Days included a visit to Handtmann’s measurement and testing technology supplier, Blum-Novotest GmbH in Grünkraut, with 400 employees worldwide, with a guided tour through the company and a lecture held by sales director Hermann Hugger.
