GE Aerospace and the GE Aerospace Foundation announced donations to 25 organizations across the U.S. and U.K. in honor of Veterans and Remembrance Day, totaling more than $1 million to support those who have served their country. GE Aerospace is increasing its impact through local volunteerism, holding multiple volunteer events with veteran charities across the United States.
“GE Aerospace is proud to work alongside organizations that provide critical care to our veterans, military service members, and their families, who have sacrificed so much in service to their nation,” said Amy Gowder, president and CEO, Defense and Systems, GE Aerospace. “As we continue our work to provide military men and women with best-in-class engines and technologies, we are honored to also offer our support to all who have served.”
The donations include:
- $250,000 to Fisher House Foundation for its work providing U.S. military and veteran families lodging while their loved one is receiving medical care.
- $250,000 to Xavier University’s Captain Phil H Bucklew Veteran and Military Family Center – marking over $3 million in total giving to the university – to establish the veteran center and bolster operations, programs, and services, including workforce preparation, and facilitating connections to employers.
- $115,000 to Habitat P.L.U.S. to install a new fire safety system for a home for veterans with psychiatric disabilities in the greater Boston area.
- $50,000 to Forces Employment Charity to expand employment training and career transition assistance for U.K. veterans and their families.
- $50,000 to Soldiers', Sailors' & Airmen's Families Association, the Armed Forces charity, to strengthen nationwide welfare, housing, and mental health services for U.K. veterans and their families.
- $25,000 to Hiring our Heroes to advance programs connecting U.S. service members and veterans to civilian career opportunities through events and fellowships.
In addition, the GE Aerospace Foundation has donated $500,000 in honor of the late U.S. Secretary of Defense and former GE board member Ash Carter to help fund the establishment of the Ashton B. Carter Visiting Professorship of Emerging Technology, Scientific Advancement, and Global Policy at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. This program will champion visiting professors who will help educate the next generation of leaders at the nexus of defense, national security, and global policy through interdisciplinary education.
Recently, the GE Aerospace Foundation also announced a $500,000 commitment to the Manufacturing Institute’s Heroes MAKE America initiative in North Carolina to train members of the military for civilian roles and help them earn FAA airframe and powerplant licenses. The program equips workers with the skills needed for in-demand jobs in the aerospace industry.
The latest announcement builds on GE Aerospace and the GE Aerospace Foundation’s broader efforts to uplift veterans globally. As part of this commitment, the GE Aerospace Veterans’ Network has held more than 20 volunteer activities engaging more than 500 employees and has contributed nearly 2,000 volunteer hours so far in 2025.
When GE Aerospace launched as an independent company in 2024, the GE Foundation was relaunched as the GE Aerospace Foundation, commencing a new chapter that builds on the successful, 100+ year legacy of the previous GE Foundation.
