Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer broke ground on its new engineering and technology center in Melbourne, FL.
Located at the Melbourne International Airport, the $26 million, 67,000ft2-facility is expected to be completed by mid-2014, housing about 200 employees. Twelve employees are already been hired and are working at temporary offices, according to the Wichita Business Journal.
The company has spent about $1 billion on U.S. operations since 1979.
