Cincinnati, Ohio – Ellison Surface Technologies Inc. (EST) has achieved Nadcap certification for coatings in its Guaymas, Mexico facility.
Located in one of Mexico's fastest growing clusters for aerospace and industrial gas turbine manufacturing, EST Mexico is the first Nadcap-certified coatings facility in the region. Nadcap, formerly the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program, is the governing program for certification of special processes serving the aerospace, defense, and related industries. The scope of accreditation for EST Mexico includes the quality systems, high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) and plasma thermal spray processes, dry-film lubricants, and metallurgical laboratory evaluation.
The Guaymas facility is Ellison's sixth operation and second outside of the United States. Other locations include Kentucky, Tennessee, Vermont, and Quebec, Canada. The Guaymas operation spans 35,000ft2 and houses multiple high-tech processes.
"The Nadcap certification is a key milestone for our newest facility in Mexico," said C. Michael Ellison, Ellison Surface Technologies president and CEO. "I am proud of our team in Guaymas and excited for the growth of this operation as we become an integral part of the aerospace and industrial gas turbine manufacturing hub in Sonora."
