Power management company Eaton has named Dan Gross director of advanced manufacturing engineering, a newly created position in the Aerospace Group. A native of Morgan City, La., Gross is responsible for developing manufacturing strategies to launch new components, products, and processes in Eaton's aerospace facilities. He reports to Mike Gallant, vice president of manufacturing for the Aerospace Group, and is based in Irvine, Calif.
"Dan brings a wealth of manufacturing engineering and program management experience as well as a thorough understanding of new product introduction and design for manufacturability," said Gallant. "I am confident he will make a positive impact on Eaton's manufacturing performance and engineering capability."
Gross has extensive experience in program management and most recently served as lead program manager for the Irkut MC-21 aircraft program. Gross joined Eaton more than 16 years ago in the Vehicle Group, where he worked as an operations manager, manufacturing supervisor, manufacturing manager and acquisition integration manager for the Valve Actuation Division.
Gross holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Emory University.
In the aerospace industry, Eaton is a supplier of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic pump and generator products and integrated systems; engine and airframe fuel pumps; electric motors; aircraft door actuation, flight and flow controls; fluid, fuel and air delivery products and systems; nose wheel steering systems; integrated control systems; cockpit controls and displays; power and load management systems; pressure sensors, seals, and fluid health monitoring products and systems.
