Coordinate Metrology Society hosts 'Discover Metrology Days'

CMS invites the public to learn about the science of measurement and metrology career paths during the 2015 Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference in Hollywood, Florida.


Hollywood, Florida – The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS), the membership association for measurement professionals, will host "Discover Metrology Days" during the 31st annual Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC), July 20-24, 2015, at The Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Florida. The educational open house will be held from 1:30pm to 5pm on Wednesday, July 22, and 1:30pm to 3:30pm on Thursday, July 23 in the CMSC Exhibition Hall. 
 
The general public is invited to attend and admission is free. All visitors must register on-site at the CMSC Conference Registration Desk to gain entry to the event. The CMSC Visitor's Pass does not include meals or entrance to presentations or workshops. 
 
The open house is designed to generate interest in the field of metrology (the science of measurement). The CMS community welcomes students, parents, teachers, adults, and industrial professionals looking for a new career path. The open house is for those with an interest or background in mathematics, programming, engineering, and manufacturing. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions about the field of metrology.
 
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet more than 45 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), software developers, service providers, and other companies involved with close-tolerance industrial coordinate measurement and technology, including API (Automated Precision), FARO Technologies, Hexagon Metrology, Nikon Metrology, and many more. The CMSC Exhibitor Hall will showcase a broad spectrum of portable measurement technology including industrial photogrammetry solutions, laser trackers, laser radars, articulating arms, GPS systems, laser scanners, laser projection systems, theodolites and more.
