Competitive Mfg. Summit Names Keynote Speaker

Douglas K. Woods, AMT president, to talk about 3 mfg. trends you can't overlook.

Officials at GIE Media – publisher of Today’s Energy SolutionsAmerican ManufacturingToday’s Medical Developments, and Aerospace Manufacturing and Design – have named the keynote speaker for its Competitive Manufacturing Summit in Cleveland, Ohio, on Oct. 22, 2013, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Douglas K. Woods, president of the Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT) since 2009, will kick off the event with the address, “Leveraging for Growth: Three Key Manufacturing Trends You Can’t Overlook.” The presentation will examine reshoring, automation, and big data. 

Woods will explain in detail how these trends and issues are impacting manufacturing and show how they can offer businesses untold opportunities in the years to come. 

Known throughout the manufacturing sector, Woods has spearheaded the Manufacturing Mandate initiative on behalf of the association to bring attention to the need to the need to incentivize innovation and R&D in new products and manufacturing technologies, to improve global competitiveness, and to build a better-educated and trained “Smartforce.”
