Comau Aerospace, Southfield, Mich., has been selected by Airbus to supply the aircraft main assembly and test stations for the A319, A320, and A321 aircraft in Mobile, Ala. The project will also include future expansion for the A320neo. Comau Aerospace will be providing all jigs and tooling for the Mobile plant and plans to open an integration center that will offer full project support to be located near the Airbus plant in Alabama.
"Our core competency is to create a solution that is right for our customer and see it through the entire process," says Brad Pelachyk, COO of Comau Adaptive Solutions and Comau Aerospace. "We feel this is a strategic decision for both Comau and Airbus and we are pleased to have been selected as the full line integrator of this final assembly line. We look forward to developing a long-term relationship with Airbus Americas."
