Circor Int'l selects IFS Applications 9 to manage global operations

Solution will be deployed using IFS Managed Cloud on Microsoft Azure.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Circor International Inc., a global manufacturer of valves and other highly engineered products used in the energy and aerospace and defense industries, has selected IFS Applications 9 to support the company’s complex manufacturing needs.

Circor selected IFS Applications 9 to serve as a single solution to replace a number of outdated systems that didn’t address the breadth of the company’s needs. After a successful pilot implementation at one of the company’s United Kingdom facilities, Circor plans to roll out its IFS solution globally to all locations. Circor sites that will benefit from IFS Applications will include facilities in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Morocco, India, and China.

IFS Applications 9 will be deployed as a single global instance in the IFS Managed Cloud on Microsoft Azure. The IFS Managed Cloud is a single-tenant offering in which IFS manages the cloud infrastructure, operating system, database, middleware and all IFS products.

“We were looking for a global solution with deep functionality specific to the industries we serve, and we found that with IFS Applications 9,” said Greg Saltzman, Circor’s vice president of information technology. “We’re also excited about utilizing the flexibility and security of the Azure cloud to decrease complexity.”

IFS North America vice president of sales Mike Lorbiecki added, “IFS Applications 9 is designed to give companies with global, complex structures like Circor the visibility each business unit needs for the whole company to succeed. Circor can benefit by having IFS Applications 9 managed in the cloud as a complete out-of-the-box solution to manage all of its planning and operational processes.”

IFS Streams available on Apple Watch
IFS has introduced global availability of IFS Streams, the proactive notification feature of IFS Applications 9, as an app for Apple Watch, available at iTunes.

IFS Streams lets IFS Applications users receive real-time updates and insight into the status of relevant company information and processes. The tool actively alerts users when changes happen in business objects, workflow tasks, IFS Talk conversations, and business events that relate to the employee’s work.

The alerts are fully customizable and sent to the user’s desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone, or smartwatch. The app lets users filter notifications by type and pin important alerts for enhanced visibility. IFS Streams can be used in Try Me-mode with demo data without requiring a login or network connection.

Use of IFS Streams connected to your company’s IFS Applications installation requires that your company has a valid IFS Touch Apps subscription.
