Charlotte, North Carolina – China Airlines has selected UTC Aerospace Systems for a long-term detailed spare parts agreement that includes air management, electric, and engineering systems on select Boeing and Airbus aircraft operated by the airline. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp.
As part of the five-year exclusive agreement, UTC Aerospace Systems will provide China Airlines with OEM parts for the Airbus A330 and A340 and Boeing B737- 800NG and B747- 400 aircraft.
Jim Patrick, vice president of Customer Service for UTC Aerospace Systems' Power, Controls & Sensing Systems segment said, "UTC Aerospace Systems recognizes how important it is to have easy access to the parts you need, when you need them, and through this comprehensive and cost-effective solution, we will be able to provide China Airlines with both reliable parts to support our world-class systems and dedicated service to meet their requirements."
Founded in 1959 and headquartered in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, China Airlines is Taiwan's largest airline with a fleet of 80 aircraft and more than 11,000 employees worldwide. The airline operates flights to Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania. As one of SkyTeam airline alliance's 20 members, China Airlines offers passengers access to an extensive global network of more than 15,723 daily flights to 1,064 destinations in 178 countries. As part of the introduction of the B777-300 fleet, China Airlines will launch NexGen services in 2014.
