Centennial College offers Bombardier airframe assembly course

Centennial College is opening a new intake of students for its Airframe Assembly training course in partnership with Bombardier Aerospace.

The 12-week training course can accommodate 60 students and is set to begin on Oct. 1, 2018. Eligible graduates of the program may be invited to work in the aircraft maker’s Toronto assembly facility in Downsview.

Centennial College is the aircraft maker’s trainer of choice, helping to prepare its existing and future workforce with new skills required in the assembly and maintenance of the next generation of Bombardier aircraft.

The private-public partnership was formed to address the skills gap that could hinder productivity gains by Canada's burgeoning aerospace industry. The collaboration prompted Centennial to establish an aerospace education and training campus in Downsview Park, which will open in January 2019.

Bombardier offers a range of financial supports for those who successfully complete the training program and designate Bombardier as their employer of choice.

Interested candidates are invited to attend a public information session on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 at Centennial’s Ashtonbee Campus in Scarborough [district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada].
